The mission of her R&D is to research and develop new and improved super hard materials and products to meet customers' and end users' higher needs for higher performances and efficiency, which is very necessary and helpful for them to exploit further markets.
There are many advanced testing equipments in the R&D Center: scanning electronic microscope (SEM) from Japan, ultrasound scanning electronic microscope (C-SCAN) from America, single frame vertical lathe, hammer-dropping impact system, etc.
The R&D Center consists of Testing Study Laboratory, Material-Study Laboratory, and Application Research Laboratory. The testing Study Laboratory is mainly do testing work of products including PDC tools, etc. The task of Material-Study Laboratory is to research and develop the applications of composite super hard materials covering PDC and Prestressing produts etc. And the Application Research Laboratory is to research and develop diamond grinding wheels, mining tools and so on.
PDC & Bits Design System
The PDC & bits design system with self-owned intellectual property rights can provide the bit design platform based on the network database, promote share and accumulation of the relevant knowledge about product design, accelerate the speed of design and improve the design quality to shorten product development period.
Bit Performance Simulation System
The bit performance simulation system is based on the principle of interaction between drill bit and rock, conducting computational experiment and analysis of the bit performance. With the help of this system , designer can simulate the process of rock-breaking and drilling, forecast the bit performance, quickly and comprehensively analyze the bit design, optimize the design scheme and reduce the developing time according to formation property and diilling requirement within less time It can partially substitute bit lab tes and rig test.
Mold Development System
With the mold developing system based on 3D software Pro/E, We can carry out 3D solid modeling ,NC program generation and cutter contrail simulation. Then these data will be sent to the machining center through numerical control system to realize the fast mold processing.
To control the quality of materials, there is a most rigid way. Direct-reading spectrometer analyzes the chemical composition of materials, nondestructive testing (NOT) monitors the quailty flaw, might be happened during the process of machining, metallographic analysis control the inner structure in the heat treatment. All these steps increase the stability and reliability of bit performance.
